EXCLUSIVE — The Trump administration is moving to overhaul federal pipeline and fuel transportation rules in an effort to lower energy costs, a package of changes the Transportation Department says will save the industry more than $600 million annually without compromising safety standards.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is expected to announce Monday afternoon that the department’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration has finalized two major rules and adopted a new enforcement policy aimed at reducing regulatory costs tied to moving energy products across the country.
